The Carmel Country Highlands community is located along the Carmel Mountain Road corridor. It starts at the Torrey Hills shopping center and extends east to Sage Canyon School. Home construction in this area began in 1999 and continued through 2007. Many have views of open space or the Pacific Ocean, which inspired the name of the community’s rec center. The Ocean Air Recreation Center offers baseball and soccer fields, indoor basketball courts, picnic tables, grassy expanses, a playground, and walking paths.
